Step In Their Shoes
My family has found out that the old saying ‘you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone’ is so true!
My wife Tracy, had Knee Surgery last week. She is doing well, resting and chomping at the bit to get rehab underway.
This may sound weird, but it has been an honor to be her main “care giver”. Tracy has done so much for me and our 4 kids, dedicating her life to looking after all of us. Being her support, especially immediately after surgery, nurse, cook, pillow fluffer and gopher was a joy. She was sleeping a lot, but every time she woke up she would say, “Thank you for being here for me”. I would smile, kiss her check and tell her it’s my pleasure. And then silently thank God for this time, allowing me to show her how much she means to me. And learn first hand how much she does day-in and day-out to keep our home with four kids, 4 dogs and two rabbits running!
If you are ever given the opportunity to step into the shoes of your spouse for a day or two, I highly recommend it! You will be gifted with a new level of appreciation for them and you will get to show how much you care!
I’ll keep you posted on Tracy’s progress and thanks for continuing to pray for her recovery.
