Resolve

The word resolution has shown up in a few conversations at the beginning of 2023. The definition of a resolution is: a firm decision to do or not do something. I’m all about a fresh start, and the new year brings that, but the pressure to make a firm decision seems like a lot of pressure after planning and celebrating a major holiday and ending an entire year. The media offered many options to inspire this new season from choosing a word for the new year to a daily affirmation along with pressure to get fit. You might be reading this realizing you’ve already reneged on your goal for the new year. I get it, the Whole 30 eating plan is hard, the recipes look great but after a while you can only eat so many eggs. Encourage the day and the year as a whole. Surround yourself with things that bring you joy and joyful sounds like 104.7 The Fish 🙂 February can bring frustration when a goal set in January didn’t quite happen, meanwhile December is a ways away. Technically a resolution can flow through all 365 days. How about this, instead of goal setting perhaps we focus on what we stand for.

1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain…
