Change Of Seasons
This is one of those awesome times of the year when it only takes a glance to see and appreciate the beauty that God has surrounded us with!! The change of season, especially moving into Fall is a glorious spectacle of color and transition. It reminds us that God is active and alive each and every moment of each and every day.
And the change of seasons are also a reminder of the seasons of our own lives. They are never stagnant and they are always changing. Sometimes in ways that are wonderful; the birth of a child, a newly wed couple or a fantastic new job. While other ‘seasons’ aren’t joyous at all; the loss of a loved one, an unexpected downsizing or the frustration of infertility. Whatever season of life you are in, we have a great reminder in scripture that everything that we go through is a season, it’s not forever, and we have a hope beyond our temporary circumstances.
Ecclesiastes 3 1-8
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
I pray that what ever season of life that you are in that you will feel the presence and love of Jesus. That whether it is a time of weeping or of laughter, a time of new birth or a time of saying goodbye, that you will know that God is always with you. He is for you and will never abandon you.
