Atlanta Traffic and The Holy Spirit

Atlanta Traffic…ARRGGHH!  I love Atlanta – but Atlanta traffic, not so much.

During a sermon about the Holy Spirit, my pastor said, “When life puts the squeeze on you, it better be Jesus that’s coming out!”

I have to confess, when Atlanta traffic puts the squeeze on me, something comes out, but it is decidedly NOT Jesus.

Realizing this, I have two options:

I could go into “Woe is me” mode.  I’ve failed, once AGAIN, to live like Jesus.

Or I could recognize that if I try to live like Jesus by my own strength, I’m going to fail every time.

In order to live like Jesus, we need the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit.  Jesus knew we couldn’t do it on our own.  That’s why He said He would send us a helper.  We are really weak people, but we have a powerful Gospel.  He said that He would be faithful to complete the good work in us and even Atlanta traffic can’t prevail against that.
