Anchor in the Storm

“No raging storm can ever defy one word of faith
My heart remains sure in the wind, sure in the waves

You are the anchor for my soul
You won’t let go”

With all of the literal storms around us these days, those words about Jesus’ character remind us of His faithfulness.  That’s from one of my favorite Michael W. Smith songs and while I have played so many great songs by Michael throughout the years, this one, “You Won’t Let Go” really resonates.

We don’t like to think about it, but we all face storms in our lives – some literal like Harvey and Irma.  Some metaphorical from health issues to family problems.  Some mild, and some Category 5!

If left to our own power, our little ships would have been dashed against the rocks years ago.  But take heart, when you turn your life over to Christ, He is faithful.

The next time the winds start to blow and the waters rise remember, Jesus Christ is our anchor – our stability – The Prince of Peace and He won’t let go no matter how big the storm.
